Work Experience and Clinical Experience
Over the past 14 years, Fion Cheng has pursued extensive post-graduate training to deepen her clinical expertise. Her training includes Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), family-of-origin work, and clinical supervision training.
Fion is passionate about supporting individuals, couples, and families through relational and emotional challenges. She is skilled in creating a safe, compassionate space where clients feel heard and understood, while thoughtfully assessing relationship dynamics and patterns. She believes that every relationship is unique and shaped by its own story, culture, and experiences.
Fion brings diverse clinical experience from non-profit organizations, hospitals, and medical clinics. In addition to her counselling work, she serves as a staff therapist and practicum supervisor, mentoring master’s-level counselling students as they develop their clinical skills.
She offers virtual sessions and limited in-person appointments in the Lower Mainland.
Outside of her professional work, Fion enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. She loves cooking, painting, and practicing yoga.
